This training programme has been designed to consist of modules based on the immediate needs of the media industry in Nigeria, namely, high-level creative design skills and the entrepreneurial spirit to go with it.

The course will take a highly practical approach, focusing on extensive hands-on and duly supervised exercises by students. It will be complemented by lectures and interactive sessions (on creativity and life skills) as well as group and personal coaching sessions. Seasoned media entrepreneurs will also be invited to parley with the students and facilitate sessions based on their first-hand industry experience.
 
Programme Content
The course content consists of the following modules:
  • Creativity, Innovation and Life Skills training
  • Media-related skills training: Participants will be expected to specialize in one of the following skill areas:
    • Print design and graphics
    • Web design and graphics
    • Video editing and production
  • Entrepreneurial training
  • Project based Training: This will comprise a project-based course to be carried out by the students within the institution in conjunction with supporting media companies and designed to prepare them for the industry. Applicants will be interviewed and tested on their creative abilities.

Eligibility
The programme will focus on training university graduates as well as exceptional secondary school leavers, aged between 21 - 35 years and who are proven to be disadvantaged as a result of unemployment after NYSC. Women are particularly encouraged to apply for this programme.
 
Certificate Awarded
At the end of the programme, graduates will be given a Certificate in Creative and New Media which will be awarded by the School of Media and Communication, Pan-African University, and thus serve as a guarantee of proficiency in new media design and production and a proof of readiness for the industry.
 
Course Fee: N30,000 per participant. Payable on admission
Duration: 4 months (August to November)
