NUC Visit
ImageThe National Universities Commission (NUC) was on a verification visit to the School of Media and Communication, Pan-African University, between September 22 and 23 2011.The visit was to both the Victoria Island and the Ajah Campuses in line with the verification of the School’s facilities in readiness for the Postgraduate Diploma Programmes in Journalism, Digital Media (Design and Production) and Community Relations.

The NUC team, which comprised Mrs M.A Shaibu, Prof. Fidelis N. Amatoku, Prof. J.A Sambe and Mr. Adetunji R. Sowunmi were received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Juan Elegido, the Dean of SMC, Prof Emevwo Biakolo and faculty members of the school.

The Vice Chancellor expressed happiness over the visit and thanked the NUC team for the interest shown in the activities of the university by the NUC. On his part the Dean sought the co-operation of the NUC team for the verification visit and hoped that it would be a successful event.

The verification process covered the programme structure, course content, and teaching arrangement. The lecture rooms, library, audiovisual studio, production equipment and IT facilities were inspected. After the thorough exercise, the team expressed satisfaction with the process and in its preliminary report, it was satisfied with the readiness of the School to start the postgraduate diploma programmes.
