Dr Austin Tam-George has degrees in Education, Industrial Relations and cultural studies. In 2007, he earned a PhD degree from the University of the Witwatersrand , South Africa, with research based on the Nigeria’s Niger Delta conflict. He was also Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Lecturer at the Centre for African Studies of the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
For 16 years, Dr Tam-George has taught in different universities and worked with colleagues and students from over 100 countries around the world. In 2008, he worked as Research Consultant to the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD – an agency of the African Union (AU), in its good governance monitoring projects across Africa.
Tam-George is a member of the Editorial Board (covering West Africa) of the Literary Encyclopedia – a compendium of world literatures. Dr Tam-George has designed and led numerous training seminars on corporate governance, Media Relations, Community Relations strategies, and communication competence for banks, oil and gas companies, telecommunication companies, the Lagos Business School, media companies, etc. When he is not giving motivational speeches in schools or working with local communities on mass literacy projects, Tam-George takes to amateur photography in his spare time.
