Prof. Emevwo Biakolo, the Dean of the school, gave the welcome address after apologizing for the unavoidable absence of the chief host Prof. Albert Alos, Vice-Chancellor of the school. Among the values he extolled were accountability, high standards, discipline and punctuality. The officials to be elected were charged with seeking to be effective leaders, who will be recognized for their laudable deeds rather than aspiring to self-gratification. “You,” he said, “are expected to be exemplary, highly visible, result-oriented, and known for an excellent alumni structure.” The Pro-chancellor ended his speech with a personal quote: “leadership is not a title or status but a responsibility.” At the end of the voting sessions, Mr. Olubumni Olukayode (CME 2), CEO OKAYHOUSE secured the presidential seat, Funke-Treasure Durodola (CME 4), Principal presenter of Radio Nigeria was elected vice-president, and Olufemi Adeyemo (CDDC 1), Brand Management Officer, Cornerstone Insurance Plc, was elected secretary of the association.
