On Saturday the 29th of October 2011, the School of Media and Communication Alumni Association (SMCAA) added yet another milestone to its achievements as it successfully elected new executive officers of the association.

The new executive officers are;
President: Mrs. Funke-Treasure Durodola, who was the Vice-president of the association and is a member of the CME4 class set.

Vice President: Mr. Bayero Agabi, he was a member of the executive council and is a member of the AWARE 3 class set, he is also the class president.

Secretary: Mr. Dan Oshodin is class president of the CDDC 1 class and is an active foundation member of the association.

Public Relations Officer:Mr.  Adetoye Oremosu, he will by the end of this year be a double alumnus of the SMC, he is a member of the AWARES 1 class and a member of the M.Sc part time 1 class. He also served as the alumni relations officer of the association.
The elections held at a convened meeting of the Governing Council of the association, where there was a total of 15 representatives of 13 class sets.

The elections was conducted by the Election Committee, which was presided over by the Chairman of the Committee Mr. Peter Nwaochei , assisted by Mrs. Maria Okoriejor , the committees secretary  and Mrs. Vivian Adeoti the Alumni Relations Manager who was the returning officer of the election.

The New President of  the association on behalf of the Newly elected officer assured members of the council of her commitment to lead the association to achieve its vision with their support.
